I have now actually tried out my calculators on a Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition (Pocket PC) machine, namely an XDAIIs. So I have spent a little time messing with the html code in order to improve the display on the 240 x 320 screen. As a result I decided to split the code into three main pages, one calculator on each page. The advantage is that there is no longer any need to scroll about. The text relating to each calculator has been removed, but can be summoned by tapping the 'Help' button. The more detailed instructions have been completely removed and are provided in the archive.
I initially loaded up the code on this web site, but found a curious problem. When loaded into the XDA via GPRS, the javascript doesn't work. However when the pages are downloaded while hotsynced to my PC, the javascript works fine! I presume that the O2 GPRS web connection imposes some sort of clipping, making the script inactive. Certainly this does not happen when hotsynced and thus downloading via my normal ISP. So I have placed all the files in a zip archive. I recommend that you unzip them and place all the .htm files in a suitable directory on your PPC. This way there will be no problems with the javascript. Using File Explorer, tap on the start.htm file. this will allow access to all three calculators at the tap of a button. Alternatively you can bookmark the start.htm file for easy access.

Also the buttons at the bottom don't seem to work correctly on my Mac, or
on PCs with IE7 and Chrome. I can only assume they did on the XDA! The Help button
opens a new window, and the Go Back buttons don't! Anyway I corrected some small
issues in the PDA files (they somehow crept in after a restore on my PC), but otherwise
they are the same. A little playing with the css styles at the top of each page
may be all that's needed to make them look good again. |
